What is Indian Head Massage ?

It is an ancient massage technique that originated in the East originally as a way of keeping the hair in good condition and has been used for thousands of years. By working over the upper back, neck shoulders, head and releasing pressure points on the face.

Indian Head Massage works on areas affected by mental and emotional stress. In Western culture today we lead such busy lives, so this treatment can really help to calm the mind and is surprisingly deeply relaxing. Working with a firm and gentle rhythm it helps to relieve muscular discomfort and tension as well as calming the spirit and aiding relaxation, it also improves circulation in the head, enhances the senses and promotes clear thinking.

This therapy can be performed without oils with the client sitting and fully clothed, so it is ideally suited to the workplace or situations where it may not be appropriate to give a full-body hour long massage.

Indian Head Massage will soothe away stress and tension, leaving you relaxed, revitalised and re-energised. This is a very popular treatment, perfect for promoting a calm mind, a stress-free body and for maintaining optimum health.

The treatment will take about 30-35 minutes.

Please note:-
Whilst you are bound to feel great after an Indian head massage, there is a good chance you may not look great, whether oils are used or not, your hair will look tussled and potentially like you haven’t washed out your conditioner! Make sure to take a hairbrush and band, or a hat to wear on the way home from your session.

Tip

To take full advantage of the benefits of Indian Head Massage, it is recommended oils are used and this will leave oil in the hair.

To remove the oil to best effect, it is advisable to apply shampoo before wetting the hair. Then wash as normal.
